While we delay for Joss Whedon’s own scifi/romance cine “In Your Eyes,” those of us who accept become amorous of the abounding accomplished actors he has formed with and whose careers he has able over the years accept something to watch. “Lust For Love” is a Kickstarter-funded, Web-based (so far) activity that reunites several of the casting associates of Whedon’s brief but ablaze TV alternation “Dollhouse” — Fran Kranz, Dichen Lachman, Enver Gjokaj, Miracle Laurie, Maurissa Tancharoen, and Felicia Day. They acutely became abutting during their “Dollhouse” experience, and that accurateness just as acutely carries over into this adorable rom-com.
I’ll be honest and accompaniment that I’m apparently too old to acknowledge this movie. It seems aimed at an admirers 20-somethings, and as such I would say that it succeeds admirably. Kranz is amazing as the nebbishy Astor, acquisitive above achievement to get aback calm with the egotistic babe of his dreams Mila (played by non-Whedon-alum Beau Garrett). Towards this end he secures the casework of Mila’s ex-best acquaintance Cali (played alluringly by Dichen Lachman, who aswell co-produced this film). Much embarrassment and dating abhorrence ensue, about all of it portrayed with heart, and a adequately ablaze affection at that. This is not one of those contemptuous movies about dating and romance.
